Crown Plaza Hotel - Christchurch

Luxury Hotel in the centre of Christchurch

The Crown Plaza in Christchurch is located one block from Cathedral Square which is the centre of Christchurch city so therefore the location is good for almost everything.  It is diagonally opposite the Christchurch Casino and is on the banks of the Avon River where you may wish to go punting.  It is also next door to the Christchurch Convention Centre so again great for conference delegates.

The Crown Plaza has 2 bars and 3 restaurants serving a variety of food from the Victoria Cafe brasserie, Canterbury Tales exquisite dining to the Yamagen Japanese Restaurant.  During our short stay we only got to try the Victoria Cafe for breakfast and this was very good with a wide selection from the buffet and also from the menu.

We stayed in an Executive Club room which gave us access to a Club which served complimentary drinks and canapes from 6.00pm.  Very nice and the staff did not hold back as can often be the case with anything supposedly Free.  Breakfast is also served in the Club but we were running a little late so we received complimentary breakfast in Victoria Cafe.

If you are only staying in Christchurch for a few days we would highly recommend the Crown Plaza as the hotel to stay in for its friendly staff, great service and fantastic location.
