Queenstown is possibly the Ski capital of New Zealand.
Coronet Peak is New Zealand's first commercial ski area established in 1947. With a reputation for some of the best and most varied terrain in Australasia. Its wide and rolling terrain (tussock grass underneath) provides excellent skiing and snowboarding for everyone, and with the addition of extensive snowmaking machines it makes it an ideal venue throughout the winter season. It was also winner of the Snowco New Zealand Ski Area Service Award 2003.
