The Worcester of Christchurch
Luxury Bed and Breakfast opposite the Christchurch Arts Centre
Worcester House was originally built in 1893 for the Chief Constable of Lyttelton and retains some very distinctive architectural features of that time. There are two suites each with their own lounge and feature extra touches such as handmade chocolates and specialty bathroom products.
The Worcester suite has a French polished, walnut bedhead which dominates the super king bed which was very comfortable especially after a full day of driving. The Godley suite can accomodate an extra guest on the rolled arm sofa bed an the lounge.
One of the best features is the location as Worcester House is located directly opposite the Arts Centre and on the tramline which traverses the Christchurch city area regularly. It is also only a 5 minute stroll to Cathedral Square which is the centre of the city.
The hosts, Maree Ritchie and Tony Taylor, also have fully self contained apartments available which may suit a family. The apartments are a very short distance from Worcester House in the award winning West Fitzroy building and for the energetic this building also has a gymnasium on site.
Highly recommended for both comfort and locality.
